Gorilla Trekking in Uganda Bwindi National Park from Rwanda Kigali in 2 days
This 2 days Uganda gorilla trekking is arranged for those with limited time but interested in trekking the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
NB; Bwindi impenetrable forest in Uganda has the biggest population and the best location for gorilla trekking adventure experience. In our 2 days ( 1 night) gorilla tour starts and ends in Kigali the capital city of Rwanda. Below is the our proposed itinerary for 2 day gorilla tour
Pick up from your hotel in Kigali or from the Airport upon arrival and you may start with a visit to the Gisozi genocide memorial museum in Kigali, after have lunch and later transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest crossing the board via Katuna or Cyanika boarders. The journey goes through the Kigezi region, famously known as the “Switzerland of Africa”, characterized by Majestic rolling hills, deep valleys and winding roads. Dinner and overnight stay at Nkuringo Gorilla Camp / Gorilla Mist Camp / Nshongi Gorilla Resort / Gift of Nature Lodge / Clouds mountain gorilla lodge / Chameleon Hill Lodge and Gorilla Safari Lodge among others.
After an early morning breakfast, your safari driver helps organize packed lunch boxes then drives/escorts you to the park offices. Here you may be joined by other tourists to receive a briefing from the park warden or head ranger on the dos and don’t during gorilla trekking before you begin your Trek. Bwindi currently has 10 habituated gorilla families and each gorilla family is visited by a maximum of Eight (8) tourists a day so you may be joined by other people on the trek. You then begin your adventure into the gorilla sanctuary. The time taken (1- 8 hours) vary according to the movement of these gentle giants and the terrain. Gorilla trekking takes between less than an hour to 7 hours before encounter depending on the terrain. You are then allowed one hour with the gorillas before trekking back.
This is your day for “life changing event”; Mountain gorilla tracking. Start early with heavy breakfast at the lodge (by 06:00h), then drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park. You must be physically fit to go gorilla trekking. The trek takes 2 -8 hours depending on the movement of these Gentle Giants in their natural habitat! You can hire a porter to assist you during the trek, he can pull or push you where necessary, and he can carry your packed water and lunch. Return to your lodge for late lunch; refresh and later drive back to Kigali where the tour ends.
